Out of this world

A couple of months back I blogged about FoxyTunes, an add-on that allows users to control their music player (WMP, iTunes etc) from the comfort of their browser window. Well the makers of that handy little program have really excelled themselves with their latest project, called FoxyTunes Planet.
FoxyTunes Planet is a website (its homepage looks similar Google) from where you can search for any musical artist. The results page is broken up into sections, each section (or box) displaying different types of results from various resource sites.

Each box displays the following artist results:

Box 1: info from Wikipedia
Box 2: pictures from Flickr
Box 3: videos from Youtube
Box 4: web info from Google
Box 5: streaming audio tracks from Pandora Radio
Box 6: similar artists from Last.fm
Box 7: steaming audio from Hype Machine
Box 8: available CDs from Amazon

The page also gives the links for the artists Official and MySpace pages.

Essentially, this is one stop shop for every type of information you’d require on any particular artist. I think it’s an absolutely marvellous site that saves time and no doubt prove to be an essential resource in the future. The site is still being tested and is currently in its beta phase. Those interested in giving it a go should go to the “FoxyTunes” website and sign up (its free and only requires an email address to get you started).
I urge everyone to try it out!! :D

FoxyTunes and Foxytunes Planet can be found on www.foxytunes.com
